Sucker for a Gimmick

Every good baker needs a stand mixer, right? [This is where you chime in with a ‘RIGHT!’ and I in turn feel justified spending $400, a ’suggested’ retail price, on a countertop appliance].

And what better time to buy than when Kitchenaid puts out a 90th Anniversary edition?? EXACTLY. There is no better time. Ever! They’ve put out a beautiful candy apple red version that is a tribute to the older models. Instead of the modern day stainless steel bowls, it boasts a beautiful spouted glass bowl [that has a 9 cup of flour capacity] with measurement markings. That’s pretty much the only difference [unless you’re overly stoked about the ‘90’ that appears on the body of the mixer]… but… SPOUTED GLASS BOWL WITH MEASUREMENT MARKINGS! Call me a sucker for a gimmick, but I love the look of it. And I want it. And I will have it.

“She still embodies all the awful stereotypes she did before!”
Smithers is quick to point out, “But she’s got a new hat.”

If not this one, another one will be mine. Even if I have to settle for the subpar, non-measurement-marked, stainless steel bowls…. which I will…. but I won’t be happy about it.
